Let's convert fractions to decimals for an easier calculation.
3/5 = .6
6/8 = .75
So, we know that Sharon used 3/4, or .75, of 1.6 gallons of paint.
1.6 * .75 =
1.2
So, Sharon used 1.2 gallons of paint, or 1 [tex] \frac{1}{5} [/tex] gallons.
